Nintendo announced during its Nintendo direct presentation on Wednesday that the New Nintendo 3DS XL will ship in Europe and North America on February 13. The regular size New Nintendo 3DS will also ship in Europe on the same day.
The system will retail for US$199.99, but will not come with an AC adapter, as it is compatible with Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DSi adapters.
The New Nintendo 3DS offers a new analog c-stick, new “ZL” and “ZR” shoulder buttons, a faster processor, near-field communication (NFC) support, and a larger screen with improved 3D support. The system launched in Japan on October 11, and an “Ambassador Edition” was offered to Club Nintendo members in Europe earlier this month. The regular edition also offers changeable front and back plates, but the XL does not.
