Opening concert to be held on July 22, event runs from July 22-24.
The organizers of the J-Pop Summit Festival announced on Thursday that model and singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu will perform at the event’s opening night concert at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on July 22. The event itself will be held at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco from July 22 to 24. Tickets to the concert will go on sale on May 6.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu last performed at the event in 2013.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu has performed a theme song for the Crayon Shin-chan television anime series, as well as the franchise‘s 21st and 22nd films in 2013 and 2014, respectively. She also previously released the Kyarypamyupamyu no Ghibli Set album in 2011 that covered theme songs from various Studio Ghibli films. She will release her retrospective album KPP BEST on May 25, and will go on tour from May to August in Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Taiwan, and Japan to promote the album. Her other U.S. stop aside from San Francisco will be in New York at the PlayStation Theater on July 25.
J-Pop Summit Festival will also host dance and music ensemble World Order, as well as the four-member all-female band Silent Siren.
