Anime Studio Trigger opened the official website for Little Witch Academia: Mahō Shikake no Parade (Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade), the sequel to its 2013 Little Witch Academia movie, on Monday. The site unveiled a visual, and confirms that the movie will have a theatrical release via TOHO Visual in Japan in 2015.
Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade was funded through a Kickstarter campaign which surpassed its main goal of US$150,000 in five hours. The campaign ended one month later in August 2013 and accumulated US$625,518 (about 74 million yen) from 7,938 pledgers to reach its stretch goals.
The final product is slated to run for 40 minutes, and it will include a making-of documentary and audio commentary. The limited edition Blu-ray will also include an original soundtrack and a gengashū (animation drawing collection) book.
The Anime Matsuri convention, which takes place on April 3-5 in Houston, will host Studio Trigger and director Yoh Yoshinari (the director of the original Little Witch Academia). The studio is aiming to screen a preview of the Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade anime.
